Mrs. Highsmith has been employed with Echols County Schools since 1994.  She has taught Pre-K, 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th Grades.  She presently teaches 7th Grade Social Studies and 8th Grade GA Studies.  She enjoys teaching in Middle School and loves her students.

Mrs. Highsmith attended Echols County Schools from K-12 Grade.  After graduating, she attended ABAC, where she received her Associates Degree in Business.  She worked as a bookkeeper at a local farm supply and a law firm in Valdosta before going back to school after her first child.  She attended Valdosta State College and received her Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education.  She was a homemaker until she began at Echols County Schools as a Pre-K teacher.  She taught over 10 years before she pursued her Masters of Science in Education from Troy State University.
